This October, Swap.com, Green Halloween and KIWI magazine teamed up to host the first National Costume Swap Day. It was a smash. Kids and adults swapped gently-used costumes in 27 states and two Canadian provinces, cutting costs and saving resources at the same time.
In fact, according to Green Halloween, if half the kiddos who celebrate Halloween were to swap costumes instead of buying new ones, our annual landfill waste would be reduced by 6,250 tons. That's a whole lotta stuff weighing us down.
Most of the Halloween swap events have passed, but families can still make costume swaps through ThredUP until the end of October.
We hope you have a very Meshy Halloween!
